Lynn counsels former pod kid, Wendy, in how to live in a world that's new to her but the fate of the other pod kids remains in doubt. Meanwhile, Anissa figures out Grace's secret. Lastly, Jefferson tries to install a superhero code for his metahuman offspring, but Jennifer insists on taking revenge on Tobias for her boyfriend's death.

Looking for answers, a worried Anissa sets out to find Grace.

When Anissa returns to work at the clinic, she meets a domestic violence victim who motivates her to take action. Meanwhile, Gambi makes a discovery.

Jefferson suspects that Tobias is behind a recent malicious attack. He brings this news to Henderson but doesn’t get the answer he was looking for. Meanwhile, Lynn is confronted by her past.

Still on the run, Jennifer and Khalil succumb to their feelings for one another and begin planning their future together. Meanwhile, Jefferson approaches Henderson with a favor.

After Jennifer and Khalil escape, they take refuge in a barn and Jennifer desperately tries to save a now feverish Khalil, who has grown worse from Cutter's poisonous blade. Meanwhile, Jefferson, Lynn and Anissa try everything they can to track down Jennifer and Khalil.

The Pierce family is reeling in the wake of Jennifer's disappearance. Jefferson, Lynn and Anissa all gather to discuss the most effective way to find her. After learning that Jennifer is with Khalil, Lynn goes to Detective Henderson to ask him to issue a warrant for Khalil's arrest. Meanwhile, Jennifer and Khalil are doing their best to stay off the grid but Tobias's new henchwoman Cutter is closing in on them.

When Black Lightning and Thunder are attacked by Looker and her clan, they fight to get her to release control over the Sange. Meanwhile, Jennifer and Khalil continue to grow closer.

Black Lightning and Thunder return to South Freeland in an attempt to figure out what is going on. When they arrive, they are directed to a nearby wood where they are surrounded by a clan of mixed-race moonshiners called the Perdi. Meanwhile, Lynn, feeling tremendous guilt, falls into a deep depression. Lastly, Tobias finds that his plan is falling apart.
